Ellen's Story

Born the elder daughter in Columbus Oh on 5-4-53 to Nila Norris Clough and Gail Clough, sister, Gail Ann(1954) Clough brother, Wayne(1956). We moved from Ohio to Houston TX in 1956 where Dad was in research for Shell oil. I attended Horn School Elementary. Friends I remember were Marlis Wallace, Sharla ? Bobby Henderson, Tom Parks. In 1963 we moved to Socorro NM, where Mom taught 5th grade and kindergarten in Socorro schools, later taught Presbyterian Kindergarten. Dad completed his Master degree in Math. We attended the Methodist Church, and the Spanish Methodist pastored by Hermano Anthony Montes, sons were Mario, Tony, Marcos, Daniel, and Johnny. Gail played the organ in that church, Mom taught Sunday School, and on occasion, Gail and I sang with Mario, who played guitar, and Tony, who played trumpet! Friends with whom I spent time in Socorro were Mary Lee Spears, Selfa Naranjo who married Willie Lucero, Lynn Kroggel, Dave Roady, and Flavio Herrera, and Gary Fullingim. I was privileged to take riding lessons from Mr Jack Bates at Kroggels. Yearly we camped in Water Canyon, and every August, attended Montosa Camp Meeting west of Magdalena. We spent family time at Escondida with Slim and Dottie Fullingim, son Gary, my bro Wayne's friend; the Montes family whom we first met in Socorro NM; and the Joe Davila's from San Antonio, NM, sons, Jobe and Michael. The year I was a soph in 1968 Dad took a Math teaching job in Coahoma TX and the Davila's helped us move back to TX. Mom taught in 1st grade, Gail and I joined the band, Jody Nix was first chair drummer the year I was a Jr at Coahoma, he played a concert with some of the band members when country wasn't cool! We attended the Methodist church. Some friends I remember, to name ONLY a few: were Barbara Coates; Lucretia Davis; Barbara, whose boyfriend was Danny Herd; Linda Weaver; Byron, Steve and Jerry; Benito Gonzales;. . . In 1970 August, Dad took a teaching job at Frank Phillips College in Borger TX, so my Sr year brought me from a 1A to a 4A school! Only needed Govt and English 4 to graduate, so I was lab assistant 4 periods for the Spanish teacher, Johnny Lopez. I went to work in CR Anthony's, then Sears, also did a summer...Expand for more
of full time babysitting for three children! I attended Frank Phillips Coll in 71-72, attended Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas in 72-73, where I had the privilege of learning that I should accept Jesus Christ as my Savior! I returned to Borger, transferred BACK from Sears in Dallas, and received an AA in 1974 at FPC. My children and I were blessed to receive a property rurally, a "this olehouse' that was built in 1904, that we moved on here. It has a lifetime of restoration to accomplish! We have had/have horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, guineas, dairy goats, jennies, llamas, rabbits, turkeys, quail, numerous dogs and cats over the years. If I said nothing else on here, I SHOULD say, that I do love Jesus, I know that He loves me, and that my Father God loves me as much as he loves Jesus! The blessings of Abraham are mine because I am adopted into the family of God! I do encourage EVERYBODY to call on the Name of Jesus, that you might TAKE that opportunity to be "Born Again"! of the Spirit, and receive not only FIRE INSURANCE, escaping the fires of a hell planned for Satan and demon powers, but to RECEIVE that life in Christ, abundantly more than we can ask or think! Mom is in heaven since 2000, Dad is 94, doing well. Gail married a band director. Wayne married an RN. My 5 children and 8 grandchildren in the Tx panhandle for the most, are firemen and women, EMT's, veterinary techs, RX techs, engineers, IT project mgrs, welders, own fence company, dirt construction company, equipment operators, truck drivers, farmers, cattle and goat operation ranchers ... quite a variety! I work in my flower gardens, bake, cook, do this ole house projects to this house when I God provided a beautiful place, It is such fun to renew acquaintances, and meet each others' children and grandchildren! Share the victories of how God has been faithful to pull us out of where we missed Him and went on our OWN, He is such a loving Heavenly Father! If you come this way, do drop me a note on here or Jaellen at proton mail dot ch, and we will get together over a cup o joe! OR even better, I have really good water from this well! Be Blessed in all the Father has planned for you! Jane
